Our Communities
Critical to Business Ecology success is the exchange
of real-world stories, practices, lessons and
insights amongst the adopter community. BEI's
Communities of Practice (listed below) are advocacy
groups comprised of practitioners, service providers and
technology vendors. Their goal is to make business work
better through the successful adoption of key
business-technology strategies by the Global 1000, major
government agencies and midmarket businesses.
Communities of Practice
Activities and Goals
The CoPs define what is important within their given
topic area, diagram the problem space and prioritize
issues to tackle. This may involve the formation of
one or two working groups to work on narrowly focused,
clearly defined problems or goals.
An important function of the CoPs is to operate a
Center of Excellence to:
- Identify important practice areas and sources of
content to be shared with members
- Engage practice leaders to provide input to the
group, become members, participate in calls, speak
at conferences, present their practices and serve
as case studies
- Run case study competitions
The CoPs operate through regular virtual meetings
and online discussions and meet in person once or
twice a year.
Output & Results
The groups will publish case studies and white papers,
produce webinars and podcasts, and conduct research
for use by members within their own organizations and
with the media and the greater business community at
large. The ultimate goal is to help businesses and
government entities operate more effectively as we
continue the transition to the digital age.
